CMS announced that all pharmacies must have a Medicare fraud, waste and abuse prevention and training program incorporated into their compliance plan by December 31, 2009. Also, on January 1, 2010, New York State implemented their Medicaid Provider Compliance Program. This program requires all providers who receive more than $500,000 in Medicaid reimbursements to create a program to help reduce improper and over payments made by New York State Medicaid.
